They've been on theire Quinta for less than a full year when I was there and its impressive what they've done with the place. If he ever comes back this way, we will be happy to host Sebastian again & share another great exchange. We enjoyed chatting during breaks and hearing about his passion for sailing, and inspiring his newfound passion of horseback riding ) I only wish we had had more time to share more fun rides and visits to our beautiful mountains & rivers. He even stayed a few days longer than planned in order to finish the job.Īs a person, Sebastian is delightfully easy-going, friendly and yet also independent. Sometimes we felt bad because he was so concerned with doing the job well that it was stressful! Considering his stay with us was relatively short, he really accomplished a lot. He was obviously highly motivated and dedicated to doing the job to the best of his abilities. He took his time to explain and teach a great deal to François about electricity. We needed help making our existing electricity on the farm more safe, which is a complex task considering it is an outdated system which was not designed with safety in mind! We value honest, peaceful communication, feedback, and learning through experiences and relationships. Sharing meaningful connection with you is just as important to us as the help you provide. We are open to co-creation and suggestions. François especially likes to lead team projects. We deeply value the help of our volunteers and take pride in working along side you. Tasks will be varied, and we are open to discuss the kinds of projects you would like to focus on to organize schedules that are beneficial for everyone. Possibly also some construction work to complete a barn/shed and covered shelter for the horses before winter. The farm has a lot of existing infrastructure that needs repair & maintenance, and even more potential to be visioned and explored!Ĭurrently, our areas of focus involve repairing the water and electric systems, installing a vermicompost toilet, growing a large veggie and herb garden for personal self-reliance, caring for our animal companions (2 healing horses, fun chickens, 1 lazy dog and 2 lazy cats), removing old vineyard posts and wire, improving and developing community spaces, and continuing our permaculture design process. ![]() This is our first year on the farm, and we have many projects already underway. Help us organically regenerate our beautiful abandoned farm! Help specifically needed in electrical & plumbing, carpentry, organic farming & permaculture, animal care, peaceful community living in a stunning natural setting.
